Bilingual Education & Outreach coordinator

 Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement the Denver Metro Fair Housing Center’s education and outreach goals.

  • Develop an action plan for targeting communities, organizations, civic, religious and housing industry groups to increase the recognition and reporting of housing and lending discrimination and other acts that violate the Fair Housing Act.

  • Develop and/or access outreach and education tools, such as e-newsletters, printed materials, videos, displays, exhibits and presentation outlines.

  • Conduct educational sessions and seminars on fair housing/lending and become certified by Board of Realtors to provide training.

  • Coordinate press relations, including preparing news releases and feature articles, arranging interviews and appearances for DMFHC staff for print, radio and television media.

  • Coordinate the distribution of the DMFHC’s advertising and promotional materials to raise community awareness of the Center’s mission, programs and services.

  • Maintain website and conduct outreach through social media.

  • Represent the DMFHC during community projects and when necessary, at public, social and business gatherings.

  • Research data as needed for educational program purposes.

  • Assist with writing speeches, preparing letters, and drafting articles for publication.

  • Stay abreast of changes in fair housing regulations, statutes, and ordinances as well as current administrative and legal decisions/rulings.

  • Develop and maintain networking relationships throughout the community, including local, state and federal governments and nonprofit housing agencies.

  • Provide accurate and complete information for grant reporting to HUD, NFHA and the DMFHC’s board of directors and as needed.

  • Safeguard client confidentiality.

  • Maintain effective communication throughout the organization.

  • Exhibit a high level of personal energy and commitment.

  • Work with the team to support and further the mission and goals of the DMFHC and its programs.

  • Fluent Bilingual in 2 or more languages (primary Spanish) reading, writing, and translating without compromising the content.

  • Manage verbal and written interactions between parties including complicated terminology.

  • Review and translate documents, forms, and technical materials in both languages.

 Salary $52,800.00
